PREFACE. The Intergovernmental Panel on Climate Change (IPCC) Special Report on Land Use, Land-Use Change, and Forestry (SR-LULUCF) has been prepared in response to a request from the United Nations Framework Convention on Climate Change (UNFCCC) Subsidiary Body for Scientific and Technological Advice (SBSTA). Land Use, Land-Use Change and Forestry: Other reports in this collection: Land Use. The terms "land cover" and "land use" are often confused. Land cover is "the observed physical and biological cover of the earth's land, as vegetation or man-made features." In contrast, land use is "the total of arrangements, activities, and inputs.

Land use, land-use change and forestry (LULUCF) is a category within the United Nations Framework Convention on Climate Change (UNFCCC) accounting framework for greenhouse gas (GHG) emissions. 14 May - Regulation on land use, land use change and forestry in climate and energy framework adopted. The editors of Land Use, Land-Use Change and Forestry believe the book is an effective tool to help the international community progress in understanding and management of land use changes in addressing climate change through international collaboration and cooperation.
